Peter Kay was a welcome surprise appearing on stage at 8pm to warm up the crowd. He done so admirably by playing some well known song snippets on his walkman, and he even managed to convince me that Celine Dion does sing 'I believe the hot dogs go on' during her hit 'My Heart Will Go On'!

Billy arrived on stage at 8.10pm and kicked straight into 'Angry Young Man' and 'My Life' before talking to the crowd. He kept looking at his watch and reminding the crowd that 'it's an 8 o'clock start right?' as people were still only making their way to their seats. He continued 'the last time I was here, I'd more hair, but now I've less hair, it means I get more head'.

He also thanked the people at the back on the pitch for buying the sh** seats and on the bands behalf he insisted it'll help get our kids through college. He continued with 'Everybody Love You Now' and 'The Entertainer' before offering the fans a choice of 3 songs.

He offered to play 'She's Got A Way', 'Honesty', or 'Just the Way You Are' depending on the loudest roar from the crowd. The Latter won, He said if he had to sing all three, he'd puke. After 'Just the Way You Are' he mentioned that Barry White had done a version, and proceeded to imitate him in a deep voice while singing some of it.

He continued with 'Zanzibar', 'Miami 2017' and 'New York State of Mind' and he introduced 'The Downeaster Alexa' as a song he'd written about the Fisherman of New York, where he grew up.
More classics followed 'She's Always A Woman', 'Allentown' and 'Don't Ask Me Why' before he teased the crowd with a bit of Molly Malone on the piano, and the favourites 'Movin Out (Anthony's Song)' and 'Keeping The Faith'.

Then he came out from behind the Piano and stood at the front of the stage and done a medley of
'Spanish Harlem', and 'Stand by Me' which evolved into 'An Innocent Man'.

When he started 'Uptown Girl', the place went wild. Those that had been happy with the mellow tunes were on their feet, and he kept this tempo going for the next 6 – 7 numbers.

'The River of Dreams' followed and then Billy took a short break and gave one of his roadies (named Chainsaw) his 5 minutes of fame by doing an ACDC cover. 'He's just escaped from a Dutch Jail' according to Billy before he launched into 'Highway to Hell'.

Billy returned wearing a baseball cap backwards for 'Big Shot', as he continued to jump around the stage. He kept us moving for 'It's Still Rock 'n' Roll to Me' and 'You May Be Right' before saying goodnight and leaving the stage.

Back he came for the encore, which consisted of 'Only the Good Die Young' and the brilliant 'Scenes from an Italian Restaurant'. Just before finishing, he gave the locals a taste of Danny Boy on the piano, and the crowd sang it for him.

The finale was a Hey Jude type sing-along with him allowing the crowd to sing a chorus of 'Piano Man'. Once again he shouted 'Goodnight Dublin' and this time he meant it as he left the stage for the final time. It was now 10.30pm.

Someone commented afterwards, that the show was better than sex. I'm not sure about that, but it was one hell of a BJ!
