WHEN DID THE WEBSITE START?
The site was first set up in May 2002... I emailed some friends about it, they emailed their friends and the site started to grow. In the first month we had about thirty five hits... we now get around a million hits every month!

WHERE DO YOU GET ALL YOUR NEWS FROM?
From anywhere and everywhere! Lots of it is sent by record companies and PR companies, often people email me with bits and pieces of news about their favourite artists, plus I keep a close eye on the music press, internet news feeds and regularly trawl through all the website in our LINKS section for updates! It's a big job!

HOW DO YOU ARRANGE YOUR INTERVIEWS?
With the help of all sorts of people - sometimes record companies, PR companies, managers, or even the artists themselves will get in touch about their latest projects and I arrange an interview from there, sometimes I'll approach people I want to feature and harrass them until they give in!

WHO ACTUALLY RUNS THE WEBSITE?
The site is run by me, RICHARD EVANS ...

WHY IS THE WEBSITE SO UK ORIENTATED?
Because I'm in the UK! Seriously, the amount of work required to put together the news, tours, reviews etc is more than enough if I stick to the UK... if I expanded to include international news, tour dates etc I'd have to find a way of fitting nine days into the week!

Having said that I do have plans to expand some of the sections of the site to include international elements and that will happen gradually as and when I have time to do it!

WHY IS THE MUSIC YOU COVER SO DIVERSE? ONE MOMENT YOU SEEM TO BE TALKING ABOUT MEGADETH, THE NEXT BUCKS FIZZ...
When I was growing up I was a pretty avid reader of 'Smash Hits' and 'Record Mirror' which were the mainstream magazines of the day and I loved the way that on one page there would be something about Kid Creole & The Coconuts, and on the next an interview with Crass... as much as I then longed to have the impeccable indie roots that would have made me cool, there was always that incredibly catchy throwaway pop record that I just couldn't help loving, so when it came to drawing the line about which genres to cover and which to ignore I made the easiest decision - no line at all!

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE SIGNED UP FOR THE EMAIL NEWSLETTER?
People are joining up all the time (and sometimes people even unsubscribe!) so it's difficult to give a precise figure, but at the moment it's around 15,000 people every week.

DO YOU NEED ANYONE TO HELP WITH WORK ON THE SITE?
The only part of the site that uses external people is the REVIEWS section, but I always appreciate people CONTRIBUTING news, tour dates etc.

CAN I JOIN THE TEAM OF REVIEWERS?
At the moment we have enough reviewers in place to take care of everything that comes in and a full waiting list of people who want to step in if any of the team drops out so at the moment we don't need anyone... but thank you.

Use the form on the CONTACT page - I will get back to you as soon as I can but sometimes it takes few days (occasionally it takes even longer!).

WILL YOU ADD A LINK TO MY SITE?
Probably... if you go to the LINKS page you can click on 'Submit A New Link' at the top of the page and fill in the submission form.

If it looks like a relevant site then it'll probably get added, but I don't generally add links to sites that are just selling things or are mostly commercial in nature, and I don't add to sites that are not relevant!

I will also expect you to put a link back to this site on your site in exchange.
