ABOUT THIS PROJECT

I am currently writing a book about the eighties, based on this website, which should be published towards the end of 2007 by Portico Books.

Portico got in touch with me after seeing the piece about RememberTheEighties.com that appeared in UK newspaper The Observer last summer and contacted me about writing a book about the eighties that covers the music, media, fashion, fads, entertainment and politics of the decade in a readable (and slightly irreverant!) way because - amazingly - there's not many general interest books about the eighties available.

I envisage the book being very much written about, and from the point of view of, the people who were there in the eighties. That means the famous people from the decade, but it also means you and me.

We all have our own eighties story to tell and I want to round up as many thoughts, memories and recollections as I can from the people who lived through the era, which is why I've put this questionnaire online to gather information about YOUR eighties.

There's no payment involved but anyone whose contributions I use will be credited in the book.
